Arcanum: Trygve Seim, Arve Henriksen, Anders Jormin, Markku Ounaskari

The Arcanum Quartet brings together four distinctive figures of Scandinavian jazz who have long been associated with the ECM label’s aesthetic: trumpeter Arve Henriksen, saxophonist Trygve Seim, double bassist Anders Jormin, and drummer Markku Ounaskari. Their music grows out of subtle interplay, space, and focused dialogue. It moves between lyrical fragility, free improvisation, and tightly structured composition—quietly, attentively, yet with great inner intensity.
