In Cahoots feat. Ingrid Laubrock

The In Cahoots project builds on the Gratkowski / Zoubek / Landfermann / Mahnig quartet, which has been developing freely improvised music without predetermined constraints since 2016. After releasing their debut album, Torbid Daylight, the group changed its name in 2023 and began working with compositions by Frank Gratkowski—though still leaving plenty of room for open, creative improvisation. In addition to its quartet form, In Cahoots also exists as a quintet, with saxophonist Ingrid Laubrock joining the band on tenor and soprano saxophone. This expanded lineup made its debut in 2023 in Darmstadt.
