Marcel Bárta

Marcel Bárta is one of the leading figures on the Czech jazz and improvisational scene. A saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and visual artist, he moves between the realms of jazz, free improvisation, experimental music, and stage music. He is associated with projects such as Vertigo, MUFF, and the DoMa Ensemble. His work combines sonic imagination, an openness to unexpected forms, and a keen sense of atmosphere, allowing his music to often transcend the boundaries of conventional jazz formats.
