Lenka Gálisová Quartet

The Lenka Gálisová Quartet is one of the most prominent young jazz ensembles on the Slovak scene. Shortly after its formation, it caught the attention not only of listeners but also of the expert jury of the New Faces of Slovak Jazz competition, where it won the Discovery of the Year award and the prize for outstanding vocal performance in 2020. In 2023, the band released its debut album, V znamení návrat (In the Sign of Return), on which it presented its own take on jazz standards and the works of artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, and Chick Corea. Their interpretations are built on sensitive vocal delivery, musical interplay, and respect for the jazz tradition. The quartet has also performed at numerous major Slovak jazz festivals, including the Pet Jazz Festival, Trnava’s Jazzyk, Sobota’s Jazztival, the St. Nicholas Jazz Festival, and the International Jazz Festival in Košice.
