he Arcanum Quartet brings together four prominent figures from the Scandinavian jazz scene, all of whom have long been associated with the aesthetic of the ECM label: trumpeter Arve Henriksen, saxophonist Trygve Seim, double bassist Anders Jormin and drummer Markku Ounaskari. Their music stems from subtle interplay, space and focused dialogue. It moves between lyrical delicacy, free improvisation and tightly structured composition — quietly, attentively, yet with great inner intensity.

Amado/Leandre/CleaverAmado/Leandre/Cleaver is a collaboration between three exceptional figures in contemporary improvised music. Portuguese saxophonist Rodrigo Amado, French double bassist Joëlle Léandre and American drummer Gerald Cleaver bring to their trio the experience of European free jazz, new music and the American improvisational tradition. Their music emerges in the present moment – from tension, listening and immediate reactions. Raw saxophone lines, the physical sound of the double bass and a multi-layered rhythmic imagination come together here in an open dialogue that is spontaneous, intense and full of unexpected twists.
